Adventures in Homeschooling!

Yup you heard me right, HOMESCHOOLING. Trust me when I say I didn't EVER think I would be homeschooling. But here I am, jumped in feet first and just completed my second week! I am not homeschooling both boys. I am homeschooling Kris, who I have described very well here . We haven't been thrilled with his school placement this year. Actually we haven't been thrilled with it any year since preschool. But this year has been particularly awful.
To make a long story short, he told me the other day that I am the best teacher he has ever had. Yes, I almost cried when he told me this. However, he does still try to avoid things that are hard for him, math in particular. But he is plugging along and doing great! The hardest part of homeschooling is my 18 month old! She is crawling on the table, yelling to use our pencils. Generally wanting to do EVERYTHING we are doing! So we are letting her (or so she thinks!) and still plugging along.
Well, that is where I have been. But I do have some fun stuff to post this week! I had a BANNER day at two of my favorite thrift stores today! Which is just what I needed after being cooped up in the house for the last two weeks! And some yummy recipes! So I'll be back! :)

Kristi! I'm so proud of you and excited for him. It is a sacrifice you are making and I'm impressed. I hope it turns out to be an amazing experience for both of you.

Good for you K! Im thinking this will be quite the adventure for you and Kris. You are going to be a fabulous teacher...after all isnt that what moms do? No one knows Kris better or what he needs.

Hi Kristi! Welcome to the wonderful world of homeschooling. I did exactly what you did nine years ago. We are in our last year which will end in May. Cass constantly struggles with math but made leaps in reading and writing in the last year. Don't get discouraged if it goes slow. If Kris is anything like Cass, you probably have months maybe years of no major changes then "boom" something just clicks.

Best of luck to you and Kris!
Oh, and Madelyn is just adorable and growing so fast!
