Kitchen before and after.....

We have lived in our home for 9 years.
And I think it's safe to say that the kitchen has changed A LOT through those nine years!  We did a HUGE project last year when we ripped up our tile floor and put hardwood down in the kitchen.  At that time we didn't think our land would ever get approved (it had been 6 yrs of waiting).  And of course literally THREE DAYS after putting it in, we got the call that all was approved!  I simply laughed (because I wanted to cry, lol) and said, well hopefully it will be good for resale!    We already had it in the DR and LR so we were trying to "match" prefinished to the finished on site we already had.  It's not perfect, but I'm fine with it and LOVE my wood in the kitchen!  And will put it down again (darker stain) in the new house!

During the process of taking out the tile, the display end of my island was broken.  So instead of ordering a new end, we put in a pine bookshelf and painted the whole island black!  I still can't decide if I should distress it or not.  It's been like this for almost a year and I love the black.

Some of the after pictures are dark, sorry about that!  It was sunny all day and I took my camera out and the clouds rolled in!  I knew I couldn't wait for tomorrow because it is CLEAN today, lol.  And five minutes after taking the pictures I was fixing dinner, so you know what that means!

Anyway, I'm going to post a "before" picture, but it's really when we moved into the house.  My kitchen has been decorated much differently from these pictures, but when my computer died last year, the pictures went with it! :(      And I have never shown my "completed" kitchen yet.  Hope you enjoy the tour!  Here it is!

And after...

This is the view from the foyer walking into the kitchen

The "old" wood floor (site finished 9 yrs ago) is in the DR and then it meets the new floor (prefinished) in the kitchen.  It's a little different but works fine I think (and hope)!!!

That little toile bag on the pantry holds my daughters bibs!  She gets them herself when she wants to eat! :)

Hope you enjoyed the tour!
XOXO

Good Morning Kristi!!

Your kitchen is as beautiful as always! Love it! Such a warm and inviting yet elegant space - something that is hard to achieve and you have so masterfully.

Will you be taking your roosters with you to your new home? If not, I know where they'd love to be! LOL ;-)

Thank you sooooo much for posting these pics of your FABULOUS kitchen. You are totally inspiring me and giving me some great ideas for my own home. I painted my foyer, dining room, and kitchen a gold/yellow that turned out too bright so I may have to repaint in the same color as your kitchen. It looks like a nice warm neutral with some gold which is what I want. I really hate painting and all the mess so who knows when I'll tackle that project. I love your window treatments. Did you make them or have them made? I would like something fancier than the valances I use on my windows. Love your beautiful accessories on your counters and above your cabinets. I had space above my cabinets that I could decorate in my previous house, but not in this house. Well, I'll shut up now, but I could go on and on about how awesome I think your house is. So glad I found your blog!

Kristi your kitchen is my dream! I just adore it down to every last detail. The new hardwood floors and all of the warm colors are so beautiful. It really warmed it up with the wood. The curtains and lighting are gorgeous as well! It's a very welcoming look!

Did you used to be on RMS? Your kitchen looks familiar to me. I was on there a few years ago and thought I might be remembering yours. Your home is stunning!

Thank you very much for your kind visit and encouraging words about my weight loss. I really appreciate your understanding. It's been hard hitting a plateua but I will keep on going with my plan. It feels wonderful to be eating such healthy foods.

I hope you stop by for a visit again soon. You are always welcome anytime.

Blessings, ~Melissa :)
